Whether you’re serving in the Royal Navy or have a family member who is. Connecting with like-minded people at your local community centre or through the Royal Navy Forum is a great way of getting emotional support when you need it most.
Life in the Royal Navy presents unique challenges, but we have a wide range of services available to help you with anything from dealing with deployment to accessing dedicated armed forces charities.

Whether you want to provide support to your fellow service people or simply meet like-minded individuals, there are plenty of opportunities to make the most of life in the Royal Navy.

RN FPS volunteer programme

The Royal Navy Family and People Support (RN FPS) service hosts a vast range of activities and events for serving personnel and their families – but none of it would be possible without the hard work and dedication of volunteers.

If you want to give something back to your community, the RN FPS runs a full volunteer recruitment and induction programme for anyone who wishes to offer their time.

You’ll receive full training and may even get the chance to pursue qualifications. Whether you want to volunteer for a one-off event or a weekly class, there are plenty of ways to get involved.

Royal Navy Youth Network

The Naval wing of the Tri-Service Youth Forum (TSYF), which was set up to represent young people from Armed Forces Families.

It's designed to give young people the opportunity to voice the unique challenges they face and to have a say in shaping the services available to them.

The forum encourages Service children and young people to actively participate in decision-making about services in their local area and get the chance to take part in the British Youth Council’s Youth Voice program.

A lot of the work we do is highly secretive and doesn’t belong on social media - in fact, it can be highly dangerous if it gets there. Our community Facebook groups are closed to anyone outside of the Royal Navy family and we have strict social media guidelines in place to protect us all.
