HMS Sultan showcase health and wellbeing opportunities on mental health awareness week

Storyline: NavyFit

Personnel from across HMS Sultan got to explore the many different extra-curricular activities and personal support services that are on offer to them at the HMS Sultan Health and Wellbeing Fayre, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

Bobsleigh, sailing, and badminton were just some of the physical activities promoted alongside stalls from clubs, forces’ services, and mental health charities. In addition, there were also stalls promoting a healthy lifestyle with the trainees also able to enjoy fresh nutritious food and smoothies.

Physical Training Instructor, Sgt Terry Kynaston said: “The Health and Wellbeing Fayre provides everyone with an opportunity to explore a holistic approach to wellbeing, recognising the balance between an individual’s physical, mental, social, emotional, financial and spiritual needs.”

There are many clubs, societies and activities covering a wide range of interests currently held within HMS Sultan and most are also open to civilian personnel. For further information and guidance please speak to staff at the Sports and Recreation Centre.
