Best heart-warming images of RN life sought for premier photographic contest

Topic: Fighting armsSurface Fleet Storyline: Peregrine Trophy

HAVE you taken a heart-warming photograph of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines or RFA over the past 15 months?

If you have, it could win you an award.

This year friends, family and amateur photographers of all ages are invited to submit the best images for the Friends and Family category of the Peregrine Trophy – the RN’s premier visual media awards.

The awards have been running since 1962, but are typically an ‘in-house’ affair for the small cadre of specialist full-time Royal Navy photographers/cameramen/women, although some categories have been opened to the wider Service community.

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity has sponsored the Friends and Family category - the best image depicting emotional moments between Naval Service personnel and their friends, family, children and loved ones – for several years.

This year this category has been expanded to include imagery captured by all RN personnel (including MOD Civil Servants and RFA), plus the general public (over 18s) and children (under 18).

As well as having their work displayed at the awards ceremony later in the year, the winners will receive £200 Amazon vouchers (£300 for professional RN photographers).

You can submit a portfolio of three photographs, which must have been taken between May 1 2020 and September 15 this year, along with a completed entry form. Details are available at: www.rnrmc.org.uk/royal-navy-photographic-competition

Service personnel can find out more details and how to enter via RNTM 09-015/21.

Entries must be received by September 25.
