MINOR WORKS AND DIVING OPERATIONS PORTSMOUTH HARBOUR ENTRANCE - 29 MAY 2024

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that minor remedial works and diving operations will take on BC4 Pile on the western side of Portsmouth Harbour entrance between 0800 – 1700 on the 29 May 2024. 

2. The works will focus on the Port Hand Lateral Pile BC4 located on the Fort Blockhouse / western side of Portsmouth Harbour entrance (See fig 1 below) and be conducted by Baker Trayte Marine Ltd using their spud leg crane barge “BT230” (LOA 30m) and supported MPV “BULLDOG” (14.8M).

3. Diving will be carried out in support of the works by KBS Maritime from the Dive support vessel “TEDWORTH” (LOA 15m) during operations flag ALFA will be displayed.   

4. Whist works are ongoing the Small Boat Channel north of BC Outer Pile to Ballast Pile will be closed to small craft and therefore requires all vessels to use the main shipping channel and to coordinate their arrivals and departures through the harbour entrance by calling KHM Harbour Control on VHF Ch 11 and requesting permission to proceed. A sécurité broadcast will be made by KHM Harbour Control to advise of the Small Boat Channel Closure.   

5. All vessels will maintain a listening watch on VHF Channels 11 and 12 and are requested to pass at an appropriate speed, minimising wash, and give a wide berth to the site when diving and works are being undertaken.
