1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the King’s Harbour Master Portsmouth that Fast Transiting training exercises will be undertaken by Marine elements of the Civil Police Services between Portsmouth Harbour entrance and Browndown Military Site in two phases firstly 24 – 27 June and again 2 – 3 July 2024.

2. The marine police will be using RHIBs to conduct exercise – see chart below that clearly defines the route that will be travelled.

Start of route: 4 Bar Buoy
WPT 1: 050° 46’.239 N 001° 7’.192 W
WPT 2: 050° 46’.055 N 001° 7’.796 W
WPT 3: Stokes Bay East Special Mark
WPT 4: Fairhall West Special Mark
End of route: Browndown Battery

3. The exercises will take place between 1500 and 1800 (approximately) on each of the days and involve the RHIBs transiting in both easterly and westerly directions at high speed.

4. All craft taking part will be listening on VHF Ch 11, Ch 12 and 16. Where possible, trials vessels will maintain a 200-metre separation from other craft, and trial runs will be modified or aborted if a close-quarters situation is developing. 

5. All vessels will obey the International Rules for Preventing Collisions at Sea (COLREGS) at all times. Please see KHM LNTM 06/24 and KHM GD 05/23.
